Graphite Plate and Bracket for Vacuum Heat Treatment Furnace

Product Overview

Our heat treatment graphite plates and brackets are flat and contoured graphite components used to support, stack, and position workpieces during vacuum heat treatment processes including hardening, tempering, annealing, brazing, and solution treatment. These plates serve as furnace hearth layers, workpiece supports, and stacking fixtures, replacing steel trays that warp, scale, and contaminate parts at elevated temperatures. We manufacture flat graphite support plates, contoured brackets for specific part shapes, and custom fixture sets matched to your furnace and load configuration.

Vacuum heat treatment produces bright, scale-free parts, but the fixtures themselves must not introduce contamination or leave marks on part surfaces. At Jincheng Graphite, we supply precision-ground graphite support plates and brackets that hold parts securely through heating and quenching without leaving metal marks or reacting with the workpiece. Our plates are flat, dimensionally stable, and can be machined with slots, steps, or custom part-holding features for specialized heat treatment loads.

Key Features

  • No part contamination - graphite does not leave marks or discoloration on heat-treated parts
  • Flat and stable - maintains flatness through repeated thermal cycles
  • Custom contours - brackets and steps shaped to hold specific part geometries
  • High temperature strength - supports loads up to 1300°C in vacuum
  • Lightweight - easy to load and unload from the furnace
  • Machinable - slots, holes, and steps added for specific fixturing needs
  • Refurbishable - worn surfaces can be re-ground to extend service life
  • Non-warping - unlike steel trays, graphite plates stay flat at temperature

FAQ

Q: Will graphite plates leave marks on polished parts?
A: Graphite is much less likely to mark parts than steel or stainless steel trays. For highly polished or precision parts, we recommend using a thin layer of graphite felt or alumina fiber paper between the part and the plate. This prevents any contact marks while maintaining clean vacuum performance.

Q: Can I stack multiple graphite plates?
A: Yes. We supply graphite support posts or spacer blocks that allow plates to be stacked at controlled heights. Multi-level stacking significantly increases furnace load density. Tell us your furnace inner height and part height and we will design a stacking configuration.

Q: How do I clean graphite plates between batches?
A: Brush or vacuum loose graphite powder and scale from the plate surface. If parts leave residue, lightly grind or sand the surface. Avoid using water, as graphite absorbs moisture that causes vacuum outgassing. Bake out cleaned plates at 200°C before returning to the furnace.

Q: Can you make custom brackets for my specific parts?
A: Yes. Send us the part drawing and a description of how it should be held during heat treatment. We will design and machine custom graphite brackets, nests, or fixture sets that hold the part securely while allowing uniform gas flow and heating.
