Graphite Threaded Rod and Stud for Furnace Assembly
Product Overview
Our graphite threaded rods and studs are precision-machined fasteners used to assemble and secure graphite hot-zone components, heating elements, insulation panels, and furnace fixtures in high-temperature vacuum and atmosphere furnaces. Unlike metal fasteners that soften and oxidize at extreme temperatures, graphite threaded rods maintain strength and clamping force at temperatures up to 2500°C in vacuum or inert gas. We manufacture rods with standard Metric and Unified thread profiles in diameters from M6 to M30, cut to custom lengths, with optional matching graphite nuts.
Graphite fasteners are essential for furnace builders and maintenance teams that need to hold graphite components together without introducing metal contamination into the hot zone. At Jincheng Graphite, we thread high-density isostatic and extruded graphite rods with precision equipment, producing threads that engage cleanly and hold securely through repeated thermal cycles. We supply threaded rods, fully threaded studs, partially threaded rods, and matching graphite nuts and washers as complete fastener sets for furnace assembly and repair.

FAQ
Q: How tight should I torque graphite threaded rods?
A: Graphite is brittle compared to steel, so torque should be approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of the equivalent steel fastener torque. Over-torquing can crack the rod or strip the threads. We recommend hand-tightening plus a quarter turn with a standard wrench for most furnace assembly applications.
Q: Can graphite nuts be reused multiple times?
A: Yes. Graphite nuts and rods can be disassembled and reassembled multiple times if handled carefully. However, threads can strip if cross-threaded or over-torqued. We recommend inspecting threads during furnace maintenance and replacing rods or nuts that show visible thread wear.
Q: Do you supply left-hand threads?
A: Yes. While most orders use right-hand threads, we can manufacture left-hand threaded rods and nuts for specialized furnace applications. Please specify the thread direction when ordering.
Q: What is the maximum length you can thread?
A: We can thread graphite rods up to 1000 mm in length. For longer rods, we can thread both ends (stud style) and leave the center unthreaded. Contact us with your required dimensions for a quote.
